MF Husain, known as the Picasso of India | Husain's Muses

The first Bollywood beauty that caught Husain's fancy was dancing diva Madhuri Dixit. Enamoured by her charm, Hussain cast her in his film 'Gaja Gamini'.

In Gaja Gamini, Madhuri was portrayed as an epitome of femininity through diverse roles including that of Mona Lisa. She was also the subject of a series of his paintings titled 'Fida'.

After Madhuri, it was Tabu. His next flick, 'Meenaxi: A Tale of Three Cities', depicted Tabu as an enigmatic muse.

Husain was carried away by Amrita Rao's charm after watching her performance as a typical Indian bride in 'Vivah'. He then hailed her as an " ideal woman of today, someone who still has her Indian values intact."
